About Us

We are an independent optometric company with two practices in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Our practices are led by Mr Christopher Aldridge BSc (Hons) MCOptom who purchased the business in July 2017, having worked in the company since 2015.

Chris studied at Cardiff University, graduating in 1999, and has worked within various optometry settings from independents to the larger multiples, and also as a supervisor at the final year optometry clinics at Cardiff University. One area he has found particularly fulfilling is the fitting of more complicated Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses.

Our Barry practice is the longest established site having started trading in 1922 and previously known as J Gribble Mayne & Co. You'll be greeted by our reception team who are always happy to help with product enquiries and any other queries.

Our Rhoose practice is our first establishment where we have started afresh. We opened in September 2009 and have been very pleased with our welcome from the residents of this village and look forward to meeting many more. Tracey and the team will be there to greet you at reception and handle any queries or questions you may have.
